FREEDOM QUEST REGIONAL YOUTH SERVICES

REGIONAL ALCOHOL AND DRUG DAY PROGRAM (RADD)

UPDATE 2008

New Name

Freedom Quest’s Day Treatment program has been renamed the Regional Alcohol & Drug Day Program (RADD).  This has been done to minimize potential initial resistance or stigma that youth may feel when being referred to a treatment program.

Same Program

While the name has changed the program format and content is the same.  We are in the latter part of our pilot of centralizing daytreatment services in order to better serve our clients and community service providers.  In this pilot, our 6 week Day Treatment programs are located in the Freedom Quest head office at 349 Columbia Ave. in Castlegar.  This approach provides the benefits of a centralized location; service providers from all communities can refer youth to these programs – you no longer have to wait for the Day Treatment program to come to your community.  Day Treatment staff will work out a transportation plan with the youth’s support workers, the bus system, etc. Youth wanting to attend from a more distant community may have the option to utilize one of the support beds provided by the Freedom House Program.

Mobile services are still an option for communities based on assessed need. A minimum of 6 youth are required for the Day Treatment program to come to a community and provide Day Treatment services.
